technical troubles tonight

Due to the main mixing board in icradio studios being down. we might not be able to produce tonight's show. sorry for the disappointment (which must be unbearable), we should be back next week. But we never know, we are working on a plan B.

Jack Jackson and Poison mash it on the coast

Here are some pics from this Sunday 19th February session in Brighton.

Full house at Audio! A seriously upbeat Roots set from Jack Johnson, with a dazzling vocal performance from Poison, I tell it to you fo real. Total scorcher! Big up these two! Sirius Lee warmed up things nicely as usual and we heated the place with upfront mashups & digi dub and crowd pleasers. And the good news is that tt was all recorded so watch this space for more live material from clash hi-fi & friends...

Special shout-outs to the Brighton massive, Lee, Nora, Andres and all motivated people. big up!

Sunday session at Audio, Brighton

Tonight we are off to Brighton with Jack Johnson and Poison...

Thanks to people like Nora, Andres and Lee, this one sounds like the talk of the town this week so we look forward to many people reaching...

Flex has got a exclusive mashups on a big Turbulence hit just for the seaside skankers, plus somes dubplates on the raw food riddim we haven't ever played yet.

We expect the deepest roots and vintage reggae from Jack Johnson and expect Poison to be in top cultural style and fashion for the some microphonic blaze...

Watch this space for reports, photos and perhaps recordings if all goes well...

Anchormix radio

Back in California Adren and the anchormix crew are uploading a series of dubwise reggae mixes... They've got a whole story line linking up the shows together, and this ya time it seems that King Tubby, acclaimed by some as a founder of dub (altough i would trace it back way earlier), takes on a soundclash with his student Scientist... but they have loads of other finely selected and mixes available.
Click on the banner to check their site, and enjoy the dubwise trip!

Well... Turnout increased dramatically since last time, thanks to lots of faithful soundclashers!
We need to get the info about this night to the world, and the press seems to be talking about it so, i should pick up even more.
At least we gave it all we got, with our full siren and echo boxes in the house. G rare from Jah Livity and his mate too the mic along I-man, and had there been 30 people more we could of called it a fyah session...

Dub Student live on Soundclash this Wednesday

Series of serious guest coming through Soundclash Reggae Radio...

This Wedneday, it's Simone Lombardi aka the Dub Student, founder of Dub Terror records. He's not only got this killer 45 on universal egg but has also collaborated with Heartical for their heavy roots 7"s...

But he's not just into terrorising roots and culture... the man likes his dancehall and vintage classics, and we've been told he's got a few reggae/hiphop remixes under his sleeve as well.... so should definitely be a good one.

SO, TUNE IN this Wednesday 9-11pm in full quality audio it's twice as nice, otherwise listen after that from soundclash.org/player

If you're there MAKE SOME NOISE!! email studio@soundclash.org or dump you signature on this very blog!!

He should come on Wed 8th march now. sorry for the disappointment.

But, we got a "replacement", Stephen Taw, selecta of the late revival night "Uptown to get Down" to play 60s and 70s reggae killers...

see you there from 9pm

Copasetic Reggae and Soul in Bolton

I only know two things about Bolton...
1. Their football team is decent and often upsets N5 supporters
2. They've got a Reggae / Soul night all Northerwesterners should attend! It's called Copasetic, which is a word I had to look up... (
Copasetic: being to one's liking )

Sophisticated Soul. Scarifying Ska. Raucous R&B. Rockin' Rocksteady. copasetic stuff indeed!

Saturday 25th March - The Balmoral hotel, Bolton
Click on the image for more info

Don't let the world of cheese take over the UK. Support the good sounds!!

Being an N5 [long-distance] supporter meself, Bolton has been a tough dig. Arse was passed down from my grandfather.

This night sounds beautiful. Nothing like that in my neck of the woods...but yet again if there was I probably wouldn't be doing my thing.

At 11:49 AM, Blogger perryb said...

Hi folks,
Just a mention that the Copesetic Nights blog is up and (nearly) running.
Now I've got to put some stuff on it worth reading!

Thanks to Clash Blogger for flagging up our humble lttle enterprise!

Cheers

At 11:38 AM, Blogger Lance Boyle said...

I'm really looking forward to it.
I reckon there will be people turning up from all over and not just from Bolton.

I love it when that happens, it's a real sense of event.

ACTUALLY... We ended up doing one hour strictly LOVERS, warming up to valentines day in some sort. Louis and Ella, Irma Thomas, Etta James, Johnny Osbourne, Carl Dawkins, The Sharks represented...

On the hour, riddim mix on the Congos anthemic Fisherman tune, produced by Lee Perry at the Black Ark. Blood and Fire are relaunching with DJ cuts from Big Youth, Prince Jazzbo, Uroy, Mikal Rose, Lutan Fyah and many more!!

Second hour came with a bang, ruff 90s bashment dancehall from myself and UK garage, i repeat loud and clear, UK GARAGE, from Flex!! and believe it or not, it sounds great and is a show you'll want to hear again and again...
